Eyebrows

Before I was even born my Daddy read an article saying that they think babies might actually inherit facial expressions from their parents before they are born. My Mommy and Daddy weren’t too sure they believed that this could be true….then I came along.

It apparently isn’t enough that I look just like my Daddy, I have to be able to make the same silly faces he does too! Within just a few days of being born I was already doing the single eyebrow lift, just like him! It just took awhile before someone could actually catch it on camera (thank you Uncle Phil). My eyebrows are very blonde, so you might have to look closely to see it, but I can already do just like my Daddy!

Is that mine???

After a very relaxing week at the beach I decided to unveil a new trick…I can suck my thumb! After several days of hitting myself in the face with my hand I finally got the thumb into my mouth, and I LOVED it!! The only problem is I already forgot how I did it, and now I am getting a lot more frustrated trying to get it in there again. Daddy tries very hard to show me that I have to let the thumb out of my fist before I will get it into my mouth again. But I’m a little stubborn and want to figure it out on my own (I wonder which parent I get that trait from?!?!)

Uncle Phil’s Gifts

Uncle Phil came down to LBI with us for a few days and he brought presents!! Normally the presents are for me, but these ones were really for Mommy and Daddy. Uncle Phil printed and framed these beautiful pictures he took of me when I was only a week old. Since he got to the beach house before we did he put them up on the mantel and waited to see our reaction. When Mommy saw them she almost started crying! She and Daddy LOVE them so much!!!

Then as an extra present Uncle Phil took some family photos of us at the beach house and down on the beach. While you can’t actually see my Uncle Tim in these pictures, he was working as the “photographer’s assistant” trying very hard to get me to look at the camera and smile. I think they made a pretty good team!
I don't think I ever want to leave this place!!

Volleyball! Volleyball! Volleyball!

So not everything at the beach is all about me! Mommy and Daddy played a lot of volleyball with the rest of the family while I slept or watched from Grammy’s lap.

Everyone looked like they were having so much fun! I can’t wait to try this game out, and judging by these long legs that I have I should be spiking the ball like my uncles in no time!

Two Piece!?!?

Much to my Godfather Uncle Trey’s dismay, I got to wear my very first two piece at the beach this week. When he found out that my Godmother, Aunt Vanessa, had bought me a two piece bathing suit he got very upset. He said I wasn’t allowed to wear it and that Daddy “should give it to one of my loose friends”. I’m not sure what that means, but he didn’t sound happy when he said it (but everyone else laughed?) All I know is I love wearing my bathing suits and I got a lot of attention from the whole family when I wore them! Too bad Uncle Trey couldn’t be there to see me in it :-( we missed him a lot at the beach!!! But we are really proud of all the hard work and dedication he is putting into his FDNY training!!!

Slings & Bjourns

Just when I thought this vacation couldn’t get any better Mommy tried out a new toy with me. She borrowed Aunt Sara’s baby sling and I got to ride in it! It was so cozy and warm and I loved it! Sometimes I would stay awake and look around and other times I went right to sleep. It is kind of like being back in her belly (and we all know how much I loved it in there and didn’t want to leave!) After only a day of wearing me around my wonderful Aunt Midge ordered Mommy her very own sling so that I could ride around like this all the time!!

Mommy also tried out her BabyBjourn with me facing out (previous times I was always facing her which wasn’t very interesting). Now I get to see the whole world and she has both her hands free!

Plus makes it much easier for everyone to admire me!

Forget the Pony!

When I was born Daddy bought me this cute pink onesie that says “Someday I’ll demand a pony!” Well this week I realized it won’t be a pony I will be asking for....

I’ll be demanding a beach house on LBI!

It doesn't have to be this beautiful house that we stayed in this past week. Really any house in Beach Haven would do just fine! (Daddy says the pony would be cheaper!)

Dreaming about my beach house.

But Daddy look at how much I love being here! How can you say no to that face?!?!

Welcome To Long Beach Island

I got to spend this past week on LBI and boy did I love it!! Not only did I get to see Grammy and Grandpa every single day, but I also got to meet lots more of this big family and I got to go to the beach with everybody! It was SO cool!

I wasn’t allowed to be in the sun at all (they had like 10 tents covering me), but the nice ocean breeze did make for some wonderful naps!

This was my reaction when Mommy told me it was time to go home. But Grammy told me that I didn’t have to be sad because we are coming back for two more weeks in August! I am one lucky girl!

Grandpa’s Birthday Gift

With no means of income I was kind of worried that I wouldn’t be able to give Grandpa anything for his birthday. Mom told me not to worry about it. She said that I could give Grandpa his favorite birthday gift, and it wouldn’t cost a thing! I think she was right!
