Water Time

It was such a beautiful day today (and there haven’t been many nice days yet this summer!) So Mommy and Daddy broke out my new water table and let me go to town.

I had so much fun splishing and splashing (and trying to drink) the water!

Daddy had fun splashing me too!!!

And of course I had to tell Poppa all about it!

Beautiful Gift!!!

I still can’t believe what an amazing gift Mommy’s cousin Michelle gave me for my birthday! First she gave me a beautiful book filled with pictures of all different types of flowers.

Michelle told me it was one of her favorite books when she was a little girl. Then she gave me another bag with a quilt she made herself of all the pretty flowers in the book!!!

It is the most beautiful gift I have ever seen! Thank you so much Michelle, I will treasure this quilt forever!

Daddy’s Day

For Father’s Day I woke Daddy up with a great big hug and kiss! (Can you think of a better way to start the day?!?!) Then me and Mommy took him out for a super yummy breakfast and then to the park! I got to show Daddy all the fun things that there are to do at the park….

First I showed him the ducks (and reminded him what ducks say)….

Then I showed him the swings…

And the slides….

And the bouncy seats….

We had so much fun together! But it was pretty exhausting, so we went home and took extra long naps! Daddy said it was exactly what he wanted!!!

A Girl With A Voice

Just because you can't understand me doesn't mean that I don't know EXACTLY what I am trying to tell you!

Here I am hiding under the table at Grammy & Poppa's house trying to convince Poppa to come over to me. Meanwhile he is telling me to walk over to see him. I refuse to give in!

1 Year Update

My 12 month appointment took place about a week after I actually turned 1. I got to go see the doctor’s office and show him all the neat things I can do, like animal sounds, and the words I know. I also played patty cake with him and showed him some of my favorite signs (from the baby sign language class that Me and Mommy took together). It was pretty fun! Well at least until the shots! That part I don’t like at all, but I did my best to be brave so that Mommy won’t cry too much! Plus I had my favorite duck with me to hug (thank you Aunt Nessa!)

Here are my 12 months stats…..
30” long!!! (That is more then half of Mommy’s height!!!)
18lbs 13.75oz
Clothing size - 12 months
Shoe size - 5

I’m saying a few recognizable words including Momma (finally!), Dadda, cat, hot, nanna (banana), app (apple), ball, Poppa, and hop (when you ask what a kangaroo does).
I make the animal sounds for dog, cat, cow, horse, frog, duck (my favorite!), elephant (complete with arm as trunk motion), snake, monkey and bird.
I can sign for eat, drink, cereal (cheerios), all done, please, thank you, hat, shoes, light, stars, bath, brush teeth, book, frog, duck, fish, ball, hug and kiss.
I can point to the following body parts when asked “where are your….” toes, belly, ears, hair, mouth, teeth, and cheeks.
I LOVE walking, but mostly when someone is holding at least one of my hands. I can take several steps by myself, but I much prefer to have someone to hold on to. When we go out I want to walk everywhere, like a big girl!
And much to Mommy’s relief even though I already have more then 10 teeth (several of which are just popping through) I have been sleeping through the night (at least most of the time).

Wow what a busy year!!!

Big Girl Food

I guess once you turn 1 year old they let you start eating the “real” food. Not that all the homemade baby food that my Mommy has been making me isn’t yummy, but sweet potatoes and peas just don’t compare to all this wonderful goodness! First they let me have some homemade pizza that Daddy makes, then came Mommy’s baked ziti, followed the next day by Mommy’s homemade macaroni & cheese with chicken in it (have you noticed I REALLY love cheese). Then came the most fun treat yet, Sunday morning breakfast at the diner!!!

I knew I liked the place as soon as we walked in and I saw the big fish tank. Daddy let me go over several times to watch the fish swim around before breakfast was ready.

Little did I know I was getting strawberry pancakes!!!
Mommy and Daddy gave me a little bit of scrambled eggs too!!!
I think I could get use to this big girl food!!!

Birthday Balloon

When ever we go to the grocery store I LOVE looking at all the pretty balloons at the check out line. And for my birthday I woke up and found a huge Piglet balloon waiting for me!!! I was so excited!
I don’t know how Piglet did it, but the balloon followed me all over the room! Everywhere I went the balloon went too!
It was really neat! Uncle Tim played peek-a-book with me and the balloon too.

What a fun Uncle!

My 1st Birthday Party

For my very first birthday Daddy’s whole family came to Grammy and Poppa’s house to celebrate with me! I’m talking everyone! Baba, GB, Aunt Sara, Sojourner, Uncle Phil, Uncle Jake and Great grandpa Knaub and Great grandma Knaub. Even G-gma Piazza came down to see me too!!!!

I got so many fun presents, like books and puzzles and even a big balloon! I even got to show my big cousin Sojourner how much fun it is to go swimming in Poppa's "pool". We had a blast together!

But hands down the best part of the day was the cake!! I got to eat my very first piece of cake! It had strawberries and whipped cream on top and was SO yummy!!!

I tried to be as neat as possible because I didn’t want to waste a single drop of the yummy goodness!!!

I started to get full, but it was so yummy that I kept on going!

I even let Daddy have a little bit, because he asked nicely...

This birthday stuff is really really fun!!!!
