Playing Outside

Today when me and Mommy got to Grammy and Poppa’s house Poppa was waiting outside for me! He and I played on the lawn for awhile and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

This was the first time I really got to play on grass, it felt a little strange and I of course tried to eat it!
I tried to share some with Poppa, but he didn’t want to eat any.
The sun made me sneeze (twice!)

And I even got to play with Grammy’s garden status.
I can’t wait till the weather stays warm enough to do this all the time!

More friends

Tonight Mommy had her friend Jeremy come over to Grammy’s house for dinner. Mommy told me all about how she and Jeremy ran in the Chicago Marathon together a few years ago, and what a smart engineer Jeremy is to work with. Daddy laughs and says I’m not old enough to hear stories about when Jeremy came over for our Forth of July party, but I don’t really understand what he means by that….

At first I was a little nervous around Jeremy, but I quickly realized that he is super fun like everyone else around here!

We jumped around and played lots of fun games together. I hope he comes over for dinner again real soon!

Talking

Please bear with Mommy with these videos. I have started saying a few words, but just to make her job a bit harder, I pretty much refuse to say them if she has the video camera in her hands. So these little snippets were the best she could do…..

If you listen close you can hear me say Hotttttt. This is probably my favorite word in the world. Poppa taught it to me when I was first learning to crawl. When I would approach the radiator he would say Hotttt and pull me away. The funny thing is I now say Hotttt for anything hot or cold. Or sometimes just because I like saying it.
I also say Dadda, which can be faintly heard here….

I have slipped out an occasional Momma, but it is by no means one of my regular words yet.
I also like saying cat, light, and something that sounds a lot like “what’s that?” Every time I say “what’s that?”, Mommy and Daddy explain what I am looking at. So I find this phrase very helpful!
There is also a LOT of “Margaret” talking. No one yet knows what I am trying to say, but that doesn’t stop me from saying it over and over again. Daddy says that he is pretty sure getting me to start talking is not going to be the hard part….

Hot Tub

Poppa gave me a very special surprise this week. He knows how much I LOVE bath time, and we all know how much he LOVES his hot tub. So he emptied out all the chlorine water and filled it with fresh clean water, and only set the thermostat to 99 degrees (the temp that the pediatrician said was okay for me) and then took me swimming!!!

I put on my pretty bathing suit, complete with robe (thank you Seamus!) and then we slowing tested the water together.

At first I wasn’t entirely sure about this, but I warmed up to it pretty quick!

I love splash splash splashing in Poppa’s hot tub!!!!!

Sometimes I forgot to close my mouth when I splashed....

And I even tried swimming from Mommy to Poppa!

Here is a video of me splashing away!!!

Cousin Matthew

When ever I come down to visit Grammy and Poppa other people are always stopping over to see us (well mostly to see me!) Today it was my little cousin Matthew and Aunt Joanne!!!!

Mommy has been telling me about Matthew for several months now, and she shows me pictures of him on the fridge, but I finally got to play with him!
At first I just wanted to play with his toys….

But then I realized that Grammy and Poppa were paying more attention to baby Matthew then to me?!?!

All of a sudden I became a lot more interested in this little guy….

I have to admit he is REALLY cute!!!!!

I know when we get a little bigger we are going to be great friends!!!

Dancing with Daddy

I get so excited each day when Daddy finally gets home from work. Sometime we have a puppet show and sometimes we read books together. But one of my favorite things is when we dance together! I love my Daddy!!!

Playing at home

While Mommy works from home I get to play with all the toys in my nursery (Mommy’s desk and computer are in the nursery with me, but I’m not allowed to play with them). And when I say “all the toys” I really mean all the toys! Every morning after breakfast we come upstairs and all my toys are in their bins and all the books are on the shelves. But I make sure to change that very fast!
First we nicely read a couple of books....
And the books go on the floor….

The bins get dumped….

And by the end of the day the room looks like this…..

Hunter

I finally got to go to this “Hunter” place that Mommy keeps talking about. It was pretty cold there, and we stayed in a big house with Grammy’s cousins (yes MORE family!) Poppa has a boo-book knee right now, so while everyone else headed to the mountain, we stayed home and played.

We roared like lions!

And gave kisses....

Poppa I know I taste good, but please don’t eat me!!!

While we were there we celebrated Mike’s birthday, which of course involved putting icing on his face.

Mommy took some pictures of Uncle Tim and Uncle Trey snowboarding, so that I could see what the big deal was. Boy they jump really high!!!
The next day Poppa took me to the mountain at lunch time to visit everyone. It was very pretty!

And Mommy took me for a walk around the mountain. There was lots of things to see...

Unfortunately when we went back to Hunter the second time Uncle Tim got a boo-boo too! I tried to kiss it and make it better, but the doctors say he still has to wear the cast for 6 weeks. Poor Uncle Tim!
