Our brave little girl

At 18 months old my little Charlotte only wants to go down the 'Big slide' at the playground.  The other parents look at me like I'm crazy as she wobbles up to the top....
But she LOVES it!!

Mud pies

What happens when Daddy leaves a wheel barrow full of dirt outside before a big rainstorm?
MUD!!!

Yes, somewhere inside my head a 'Mommy voice' was telling me that me to say "No."  "Stop touching that." or "Don't get dirty!"  But they were just having too much fun for me to ruin it!
As Grammy's cousin Mary said "This is why God made kids washable!"

Twirl around

Sometimes a girl just has to twirl around!

Practice makes perfect

Margaret was a little worried, but much to her relief the Easter Bunny was able to find us at Grammy & Poppa's house!  And the beautiful eggs were everywhere!
And with much less competition even Charlotte was able to find plenty of eggs of her own!

Charlotte and Margaret quickly figured out that if you shakes the egg she can figure out which ones have jellybeans and which have stickers.  Want to guess which ones the girls wanted?

Charlotte didn't trust the safety of her Easter basket and decided that Poppa and Daddy were much safer places to store her eggs.

After the initial Easter morning sugar high wore off, it was time for another Easter Egg hunt!  Since Uncle Trey had to work over night and was not able to see the morning Easter Egg hunt, he decided to re-hide (after re-filling with more candy) all the eggs outside.  Mommy might have objected to this second sugar surge, but the chance to get some beautiful pictures of the girls outside in their Easter dresses convinced her that it was a good idea.

Margaret is waiting patiently for Uncle Trey to finish hiding the eggs.
And finally the hunt is on!

Charlotte was once again very excited to be finding eggs on her own!

SO excited in fact that she started doing her own little touch-down dance!  She almost got flagged for excessive celebration, but the reef let her off easy.
Uncle Trey helped the girls find the last few eggs.

Remind Mommy to never "hire" Poppa as her photography assistant again!  With both girls in their beautiful Easter dresses she wanted to try for a quick photo shoot.  Of course the girls did not like this idea, so Poppa offered them jellybeans in order to sit nicely for the pictures.  Seemed like a reasonable idea......
Unit ever single shot was ruined by various "chewing faces" being made...

Decorating Eggs

I'm not sure when dying Easter Eggs becomes fun with toddlers, but I know we are not there yet.  I was not brave enough to let them actually touch the dye....so we started with crayons and stickers.
Which quickly turned into decorating themselves....  Oh well, maybe next year!

Even that didn't work...

We got a few keepers, but not many!

Easter Egg Hunt Take One...

The wind and cold could not keep us from the annual O'Rouke Easter Egg Hunt!  Since this was Charlotte's first time really participating it was understandable that she was a little confused about the whole thing.
Fortunately Margaret had it all figured out and a basket full of colorful eggs!

She was even feeling generous and gave Charlotte a pink egg of her very own!
Charlotte was very happy to have even one egg!

But once she figured out there was candy in the egg she decided to try to "find" some more....
This appears to be a sweet sister embrace, but I'm pretty sure that right now Margaret is telling Charlotte what she will do to her if she tries to touch another one of her eggs!
