Grandpa Thuma comes for a visit

Grandpa Thuma happened to be refereeing a soccer tournament in eastern PA this weekend, and being the road warrior that he is, he figured he was already a couple hours in the right direction, why not drive another 4 hours and swing up to CT to visit us. At first it looked like he would once again only get to see CT in the rain (which he is convinced is all it ever does here). But Sunday the skies cleared long enough to give him a tour of some of our beautiful beaches and waterfront parks! (BTW – There seem to be a lot of you how didn’t know that we live by the beach! We aren’t talking LI or Jersey Shore beaches with big waves and stuff. But are only about a ¼ mile from some really beautiful beaches right on the Long Island Sound! So come visit in the summer!)

Well Grandpa Thuma of course came bearing more gifts from the PA clan! The huge packs of diapers (in various sizes) and monster size box of wipes will be so useful! We love the collection of Dr. Seuss books, and I am sure they will be some of the baby’s favorites!

But the best are these great onesies that Grandma Thuma found, they say “My Daddy Rocks”. Now to most people this would probably be a musical reference or simply referring to having a “cool” dad. But pair this with a tiny little Royal Stewart kilt and place at any one of the many Highland Games that we will be going to this summer and it takes on a whole other meaning! I’m sure Ben will be teaching the baby to throw rocks very soon! Wait aren’t you supposed to tell kids NOT to throw rocks?!?!?!? This could get complicated!
