Did the cleaning really do it?!?!?
So weeks of trying all the other tricks and myths and old wives tales, and all I really needed to do was scrub the floors? Or maybe it was the dose of cervix ripener that they gave me Saturday morning at the hospital during my screening. I guess we will never know for sure. What we do know is that by about 9:00PM Saturday night I was having regular contractions and getting very excited that we were going to get to avoid the whole induction process. At around 2am we got a little over eager and almost jumped the gun by thinking we were ready to head to the hospital. After talking on the phone to our Midwife she said that “Mom sounded far too calm and happy to be ready to be heading to the hospital.” I knew that she was right, but I also felt like I was going to be happy during the entire labor because I was just so happy it was happening on its own! Well, we laid back down and proceeded to start a Harry Potter movie marathon (with mom actually able to fall asleep between each contraction and store up a little energy.) Sunday was a long day of laboring at home and trying to conserve as much energy as possible. At about 3am Monday morning we finally decided it was time to tackle the hour long drive to the hospital. Ben did a great job getting me as comfortable as possible in the car and we hit the road. Let the real fun begin……
