Logic?!?

Due Date +10 Days

So what type of logic do you use when talking to a baby? Each day Ben and I try and try and try to talk the baby out. We started out with real general “Come on out baby it is time to meet the world.” This didn’t have any impact at all. Next we tried a literary reference from one of our favorite books, Enders Game. Telling the baby over and over again that “The enemy’s gate is down. Head towards the gate.” While the baby does enjoy listening to Enders Game with us at night, it didn’t take much to this coaxing either. For the past couple of days I have begun telling the baby about each member of the family who is eagerly awaiting its arrival. Their name, where they live and what they are like. (In retrospect maybe I shouldn’t have told the baby how much Grandpa Frankie is going to tease it.) Ben has taken the more scientific approach and is now explaining to the baby exactly what hormones it needs to be releasing in order to get this process started. If anyone has any other ideas that might work, we are obviously open to suggestions!!

Maybe it is time to try "not trying" to get the baby to come out :)

I wish I could give you advice on how to talk the baby out, but in my vast (ha!) experience as a parent of a cute but super stubborn toddler, the more you want it, the less likely he or she is to comply. Lately, I just tell Will that he can do what he wants but I'm not going to talk to him until he does X...and that generally elicits a prompt response! :)

Baby Thuma!?! What do you want to hear? I personally think he or she is trying to break my record! I hope not for your sake Aunt Katherine, but your getting dangerously close.

Come on little Thuma, it's time.

Lots of love, Blayne

I know it's painful. Hang in.
